Meeting up with your favourite star...
by
Jannike
on Fri 26 Feb 2010 12:22 GMT
You
just see them on the front page of newspapers. Always perfect without
any spots and without any kilos too much, wearing the clothes you
always wanted to wear. Of course, I am talking about Brad Pitt &
Co. But did you know that Tom Cruise is just 169 cm tall?
In
Mme Tussaud’s wax figure museum in London you can check if your
imaginations of your favourite stars are realistic. Of course, you
won’t be able to see if there are perhaps, after all some spots
hidden under a thick layer of make up – proofing that even the
celebrities are just human beings. But I can calm you down, I have it
from a good source that the stars have the same problems as us.
Sometimes
their jeans are also too tight and they try to blame the last laundry
for it. ;-).
In
Mme Tussaud’s you can just enjoy the feeling to stand, to hug or
even touch your beloved idol.
It
is just amazing how detailed the wax figures are created.
Just
set off for Mme Tussauds and become part of the high society -at
least on the pictures...
Tickets are soon available on www. gift-tours.com!

Theatre deals - double the fun for half the price!
by
Lina
on Tue 23 Feb 2010 13:14 GMT
Gift-tours
now offers great deals, on several of the theatres shown at London's
West End, that’ll make both your wallet and your partner happy. The
theatre break is a fantastic 2 for 1 deal and applies to all the
well-known and praised musicals like for example Grease, Les
Miserables, and We Will Rock You!
Seize
the opportunity to put yourself in a better light to your boyfriend
or girlfriend, or take your mother out for a family night to shut her
complaints - about you not calling her often enough - up. Getting
seated in front of a stage where the multi-talented cast is giving
their all just to entertain you for a couple of hours is a great way
of spending time with each other. The environment with so many people
gathered at the same place to enjoy a bit of culture is just so inspiring and it’s a
proved fact that music has a healing effect on your mind.
If
you’re looking for somewhere to eat before or after the show,
Gift-tours also provides tickets including dinner at a restaurant
close to the arenas. Or like Magdalena wrote a week ago, you can even
find offers which include a hotel stay, for bargain prices!

Unlock the Stonehenge’s secret...
by
Kim
on Thu 18 Feb 2010 12:03 GMT
Once
upon a time, somewhere in the South West of beautiful England, some
men started the construction of a mysterious monument. They put up
many huge rocks which created later a wide inner circle in the green Salisbury Plain.
5000
years later, the Stonehenge site keeps on raising questions and
various theories (the heavy mystery which shrouds it). Some people
think that Stonehenge was a temple, a place of worship where the
druids and Celts met and prayed. For others, the stone ring was a
prehistoric astronomical observatory because of its specific
orientation. However, some recent researches revealed that the site
was rather a burial place.
Nowadays,
still nobody knows the truth. Stonehenge keeps all its secrets well
locked up...
If
you are as curious as me about discovering the fascinating story of
Stonehenge, be aware of many tours which are organized by Gift-Tours.com in order to satisfy your thirst for adventure. Special
deals allow you to visit the famous site and other must-see
attractions nearby such as the imposing Windsor Castle or the lovely
Georgian city of Bath, famous for its old Roman Baths.
One
of the offers of Gift-Tours.com enables you to visit Stonehenge at
sunset or sunrise. I would advise you to go there at one of these
times as the site looks then the most wonderful! I’m sure, you
won’t be disappointed...
Don’t
wait any longer and enter the legend of Stonehenge and its marvellous
mysteries!

St Paul’s Cathedral
by
Lina
on Tue 16 Feb 2010 11:30 GMT
Did you know that the
current St Paul’s Cathedral, or Cathedral Church of Paul the
Apostle, is actually the fifth in order? The previous churches have
all burnt down or decayed over the years, since the first was built
in AD 604. The present
Cathedral was built in the 17th century and you don’t
need to know a lot about its history to understand that it’s been
through a lot, both good and bad. It literally breathes history from
over the years.
Neither need you be
religious to appreciate the sightseeing tours around the area. It
does not only tell you a more than 400 year long story, but the
architecture around the place is also amazing. One must admit that the St Paul’s
Cathedral designed by Sir Christopher Wren is a quite massive building! What might be
interesting to know is that the church bell, Great Paul, is the
heaviest in the whole United Kingdom with its 17 tons. How the heck
did they manage to hang it up in the first place?
St Paul’s Cathedral is both for
tourists who want to go sightseeing around the area and for
anyone who needs a quiet moment to pray. The latter is naturally
completely free of charge. For seightseeing, book your ticket online with gift-tours.com!

Discover England's secrets...
by
Jannike
on Mon 15 Feb 2010 15:30 GMT
Secrets, myths and
mysteries...these things are not only interesting for children,
adults cherish as well for instance mystery novels and tend to be
very igneous about gossips and other people’s issues. But this only
on the side.
Actually I intended to
refer to one of the most beautiful places in England: Dover’s
White Cliffs. This location is such an awesome place. In
combination with the stories, for how many people and even more
interesting for what kind of people these cliffs have already been a
shelter... terrific!
It was a shelter and a
stash for WWII Soldiers, bootleggers and even for smugglers and
pirates.
Just let your
imagination run free for a moment and imagine, you are on a boat trip
and then a big dark, sordid ship with a flag with skull and cross
bones on it arrives out of nowhere.... Does it give you the creeps?
But don’t worry.
Nowadays you usually don’t meet pirates on the White Cliffs
in Dover any more.
So why not joining a
trip?
Also, you will have the
possibility to see the other must-see attractions of the nearby area.
The tour includes a
visit to Leed’s Castle, spectacularly set on two islands
and surrounded by land rich in English wildlife. Furthermore you will
enjoy the beautiful view from Dover’s Cliffs and of course
you won’t miss Canterbury and Greenwich travelling further
through the country. Canterbury is popular because of its
beautiful cathedral and famous for being a pilgrim’s destination.
In Greenwich there are many beautiful parks and amazing
architecture.

Hairspray - not only for your hair...
by
Jannike
on Sat 13 Feb 2010 14:09 GMT
No,
I don’t mean the stuff you put on your hair to look more
attractive. Hairspray, the movie should be familiar to
everyone. But have you also attended the musical yet?
'Big
Hair, Big Heart, Big Hit! You will laugh, you will scream, you might
even shed a tear or two' (Daily
Telegraph). I can only agree with the Daily Telegraph. The
funny smash hit musical is definitely one of the funniest and most
vibrant entertainment shows I’ve ever seen.
The
story is about an ordinary girl starting off a career in her
favourite TV dance show. Can she match her dancing career with the
demands of her mother and at the same time win the heart of her
heartthrob?
I
really love musicals, especially London’s theatre scene as it is
famous for its outstanding shows.
Unfortunately,
musicals don’t count to the most cheapest attractions. You spend a
lot of money, just to see the show. It’s good value, that’s for
sure, however as a visitor you have to book a hotel in addition. That
can be really expensive.
I’m
glad that gift-tours provides a package including hotel and
musical tickets now.
It
spares troubles and is a cheap way to spend a lovely evening in a
musical and afterwards stay overnight in a reputable hotel.
But
check out by yourself on

Hear ye, hear ye!
by
Lina
on Fri 12 Feb 2010 10:51 GMT
Being held for 35 years
now the Medieval Banquet, taking place in the vaulted cellars of the
Ivory House is becoming a little piece in history itself. And bearing
in mind the impressive number of visitors every year, nothing implies
that it’s going to be a part of the past any time soon. Located just a stone's
throw from the Tower of London and Tower Bridge, the Medieval Banquet
is a perfect escape from our time’s electronic devices and lack
of chivalrous manners for a
couple of hours. For
the feast of four courses and unlimited beer and wine, King
Henry VIII and his company of knights and ladies, minstrels and
players will be joining you. Raise your tankard in the manners
of bygone times and flickering torchlights, and make a toast to the
fact that we don’t have to deal with leprosy any more. (Phew...) Cheers!
Don't miss our city breaks that include both a ticket to one of London's countless attractions as well as a hotel stay, for prices from just £59!
