There is nothing to deny: We are living in the fast-moving world of the 21st century where days pass like minutes, weeks like hours, no talking about months which nowadays let us grow old. So I wonder how to spice up the daily routine? Naivety or hope keeps me believing that there is a desire to get away from everyday life and dip into foreign cultures- even if it's just for a day! Don't we all need that? I am sure we do.
As a big city lover I want to keep up with the rush but wonder if it always has to be London. What about a little bit of 'la belle vie en France'? Luxury Paris is only a couple of hours away but a bounce into 'le monde de l'amour' is guaranteed. Gift-tours.com offers a day trip to Paris including all the attractions from the Cathedral of Notre Dame and world's famous Champs Elysees to Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower, Paris' true symbol. Exclusively, a river cruise tour and a Champange Lunch where you can enjoy a gorgeous view make your day perfect. Speaking about the educational aspect of the trip, the Louvre accommodating the grand Mona Lisa, is your place to be! I can't help it but this seems like a perfect combination of sightseeing and relaxing- isn't that what you need as a busy Londoner: Getting away from the daily round but keeping the city in your heart! "And last night, I finally got to see the show. Regular readers won’t be
surprised to hear that I loved it. (It’s a girly, giggly, pink,
hilarious musical– what’s not to like?!) To be honest, I’d happily watch it again tonight. And tomorrow. And the next day…" (Zoe J. Griffiths, the VisitLondon blog)
This review on Legally Blonde the Musical kind of makes you want to go see it, doesn't it? Legally Blonde the Musical is based on the comedic film about the over the top bubbly society girl Elle Woods and her struggle to attend the prestigious Harvard Law School. Wearing exclusively pink clothing she's quite an eyecatcher among the suited up bores that usually are seen in the courtroom and she'll colour up any grey day of the week. It's a lovely, easy and humouristic film and hence perfect to turn into a musical. Legally Blonde the musical, with british comedy actress Sheridan Smith in the leading part, is shown at the Savoy Theatre in London's West End. Check out our special offer at gift-tours.com and let Elle Woods blow every ounce of winter melancholy off your mind! Book online or call our friendly staff. Have you ever read the books of Harry Potter? I read all 7, not just one time, but several times - even in English and German. I loved and still love these books. When I read them I'm completely isolated from the rest of the world - there is just me and the world of magic and wizards.
When the movie was released, at first I was afraid that it might destroy the images I had in my head. But it was just the opposite! I especially loved the locations and therefore I needed to go to some of the places where Harry Potter was filmed. I decided to visit Lacock Abbey, situated in the heart of England. I really enjoyed the visit, though I would have enjoyed it even more if I had met Daniel Radcliff, the actor of Harry Potter, himself. It was a lovely dreamy afternoon I spent in the abbey and it reminded me of many exciting movie scenes. If you are also interested in discovering the location where Harry's adventures took place, you should definitely stop by Lacock Abbey! Moreover, I would advise you to plan a day trip as the picturesque village Lacock is worth to be seen as well. I had booked my trip to Lacock online and was more than satisfied with that. It saved further troubles and was quickly done... Now something I wanted to say all along: Joanne K. Rowling: You are the true wizard! My tribute to your work. (I hope she will read it sooner or later Wednesday, January 27

When I was a little girl, my grandparents used to tell me fairy tales.
I loved sitting on my grandmother's lap in front of the
crackling fireside... Thinking of that makes be nostalgic.
My favourite stories were, of course, those in which something scandalous happened. There were stories my grandmother had to tell me over and over again. I couldn't get enough of them. One of those was the story of the Monster of Loch Ness: Three brothers who are living nearby the lake of Loch Ness win their bread by going fishing. One day - the sun burned hot- they decided to refresh themselves in the cool water. Only the eldest stayed in the boat looking after the nets. Suddenly, a big shadow covered the boat and within seconds, it disappeared. The other two swam back to the banks as fast as they could screaming loudly. They survived, but James has never been seen again... Of course, the shadow was Nessie - in that point all historians agree! Now, I'm 20 years old and still wondering if the myths are true. However, last summer a dream came true, when I finally visited Loch Ness. Standing on the banks where every second a monster could appear was a strange feeling. This trip, which amongst other things included sightseeing in Edinburgh and a visit of Glencoe, the Highlands of Scotland, was organised by gift-tours.com. I really loved it! In the end, I am glad that I booked a trip with this online company. Otherwise I would have missed many beautiful places of Scotland's extraordinary landscape. As a departed swede I try to adapt to the culture over here in the UK and to not to be such a patriot just because I’m away from home. But how can I put it; you can take the girl out of Sweden but you can never take Sweden out of the girl? I can’t help it. I have a tendency to notice and to promote things that have even the slightest connection to Sweden. And so when I got to choose between which of the 4 arenas of the London 4 All Seasons Pass I wanted to visit to do some research for the blog, I went straight for the Wimbledon Arena. Why? My god people, haven’t you heard of Björn Borg? He won the Wimbledon five years in a row back in the 70’s, and went to the finals in the sixth but lost to the angry John McEnroe. Stepping into the arena is really impressive. You can almost hear the spectators’ excited cheerings and smell the sweat of hundreds and hundreds of athletes that have been competing there over the years. With the 4 All Seasons Pass you’ll get a guided (and actually awarded as well) tour around the arena and its environment such as the No. 1 Court, The Millennium Building, the water gardens and the Press Interview Room, only to name a few! You will also get to see the Science of Tennis on a 200° Cinema with amazing GI technology and experience the interactivity of the world-class Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum. The other 3 arenas you get access through with the 4 All Seasons Pass is Lord’s Cricket Ground, Chelsea Stamford Bridge Stadium and Twickenham Stadium. The price is only £45 for adults and £32 for children. Take a look at our website for online booking and more information about the guided tours for these arenas!

Famous for Shopping, Arts, Dining or Clubbing, today's London is plainly one of the hot spots!
Though, the metropolis has to offer plenty of important historical places. As I went to London for the first time, I immediately stepped back into the most interesting place of royal London: Hampton Court Palace. Just a quick ride south west of the City, you'll get a feeling of being placed back into the 15th century. Sounds like a nice break from the rush of the 21st century, doesn't it? Not just because English History is my subject and I am nuts about it, really, I can promise you'll definitely miss out an extraordinary part of English history if you don't visit the palace! Inhabited by the Tudor, Stuart and Hanoverian dynasties and restored during the reign of Queen Victoria, real time history is present as never before. Beyond words, the palace's private rooms lively convey the daily grind of the Tudor Society. If you still can't call yourself 'Histomaniac', Hampton Palace is announcing stunning exhibitions from January 2010 - court comes to life when the 'Heads and Hearts' event allows visitors to keep track on Henry VIII's sensational relations to woman besides other hidden royal secrets. Forget about dreary guided tours- feel real kingly attending one of the most famous UK Tours! Friday, January 22

When I was little, like
8-9 years old I had a huge crush on a man I could have never had, and of
that I was fortunately without knowing of. First of all, of course, I
was under age. Second thing, this man was not only an extremely
charismatic, talented and respected celebrity famous all over the
world, but also gay - and dead since for about 4 years before I fell
in love with him. The man I’m talking
about is (of course) Freddie Mercury, the leadsinger of my all time
favourite band – Queen! I never got to see them play since their
last concert as a whole group was in the year I was born, 1986. But
now I’ve got the chance to get at least a sense of what it would have been
like through seeing We Will Rock You The Musical, shown at the Dominion Theatre.
It was written by Ben
Elton in association with Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor. It
takes place in the distant future, 300 years from now, where music made
from other instruments than computers is absolutely prohibited.
Galileo Figaro and Scaramouche, a young man and woman, are set to
save the world from a living hell and instead bring back the joy of
living rock. Book your ticket from only £32,50 online,
or call our friendly staff for further guidance. You can also check
out our website for information about other shows as well. |
